Just outside the City of Fredericton city limits, is Airport, with direct air links to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, and Boston. Negotiations with the Federal government to transfer ownership of the airport to the local management group were concluded in September of 2000, and will see the runways lengthened and service to the area vastly improved.
The Fredericton Flying Club, Norfolk Aerial Spray, Diamond Construction and Trans-Maritime Helicopters Ltd. are also based here. In addition, the Airport serves the military transport needs of Canadian Forces Base Gagetown. The major car rental agencies have a full range of automobiles available through their booths at the airport terminal.
